Am I the only one that don’t row for legs? I extend my legs and then hold position and row to isolate my back

Condescending and confusing. Perfect for teaching. "You can't use your legs and pull," then explains how you're supposed to use your legs and pull. The only difference from the bad example you had at the beginning and the correct form is delaying the hip swing. The pull naturally comes at the end. Also, in the weird bad example, you didn't even pull. You just used the legs and hip swing. The arms were straight the whole time you scooted back and forth. Is the hip swing the pull, or is bringing your arms back the pull?

This type of rowing should hit your lats and rhomboids, the best way to get stronger and bigger is to load these muscles with tension and increase the time they are under tension. When you push with your legs it takes the tension off your back and onto your legs. Now your legs are moving the weights and your back is missing out on the most productive part of the actual row which would be the part where it’s under the most tension, in this case it’s the time when the cable is closest to the machine and your arms are fully extended in front of you . A much better way to isolate the back muscles would be to lock your legs and fully extend your arms in front of you then focusing on driving your elbows back as far as you can. If you want to hit your legs with this machine the way he listed above is pretty good but there are significantly better leg exercises even just using body weight if you’re working on a tight budget.

You actually want as much heel cushion as possible in order to not destroy your heels when you run so zero drop shoes are the worst possible things for running. Also more toe room can make it much more uncomfortable and harder to run in most cases so try to avoid too much extra toe room more than you need.

I wear the vivo primus lite for weightlifting because of the stability, but prefer the nike alphafly for running because I'm more concerned with minimizing impact on joints than anything else.

As a long distance runner in high school who runs a lot, altras are definitely one of the "best", becuase when your doing double digit long runs or just a lot of miles in general you want a good amount of cushion along with the benifits of a wide toebox and zero drop.

I can't say enough about my minimalist shoes -- absolutely love 'em. I've been wearing them exclusively for about 4 years now for running, hiking, walking, rowing (gym), weight lifting, and cycling on stationary bike. They key is to get used to them vvvverrrrrry gradually. Gotta have a lot of patience if you're new to them.

Just found this. Have been indoor rowing for a long time. Then stopped now back. But got into bad habits. Sloppy 20 minutes with no hard burn. Working on bring down my blood sugars rather than weight. This workout plus controlled diet is perfect. And your encouragement is just the right level to keep you going but not distract. Great work. I bought a C2 years ago and I'd buy it again 100/100 times, even if I had all the money in the world. It's such a well beaten path. My daily routine is always the same - fire up the app (which is free, has no ads, and only needs permission to connect to the rowing computer), start the Workout of the Day, follow the workout, then go see how I ranked against others. I don't know why anyone complains about the noise, I don't turn up whatever I'm listening to while I'm rowing because I don't need to. I think the noise "complaints" are marketing. I realize real people do occasionally complain but I don't think it would occur to them if they didn't see others complaining.

While contemplating which version Ergatta to get I came upon this old but very useful review. For me the valuable part was seeing you row on the Lite and literally tweak the frame on each stroke. I am 280lbs and built like a middle linebacker and have been rowing on a Concept 2 regularly for 18 years. Seeing that demo, I just knew I would eventually destroy the Lite. So it will be the original model for which I will retire my Concept 2. Nothing wrong with it (parts are readily available to keep it going forever) and I know there is now an Ergatta add-on for the Concept 2 but I want to try the water style resistance.
